A recent survey finds that the majority of U.S. economists (74%) think that the recession will end in the third quarter of this year. About 19% of economists believe the recession will end by the fourth quarter of the year while the remaining 7% say it will end in the first quarter of next year.

It was also predicted that the job market will remain weak well into next year. None of these predicted estimates apply to the state of Florida where the recovery is expected six months later.

Florida faces some more disadvantages than other places because its high property taxes and insurance rates will remain a problem for the state. At the same time, there are some advantages for Florida (Florida holiday rentals)  such as a strong health sector, more foreign visitors received in Miami (Miami holiday rentals) and the presence of many financial institutions. Miami is in a better position than the rest of Florida as a whole. Whenever the recovery does happen, it is likely to be significantly more modest than those usually experienced after such a decline.
